Home Again: Trump 2.0 at 30 Days
As talk show host Michael Berry said in a recent broadcast “These are the good old days!” We are living through the best of times; every day is better than the next. Those of us still alive in 20 or 30 years will remember these moments, this conservative honeymoon of hope and change, as the time when it all began. With the attar of affection and slightly puffed chests, we are going to speak of these last 30 days as the beginning of the good old days, reveling in the fact that we experienced them as they unfolded.

Trump’s Second First Term
The mere fact that President Trump was re-elected to the Presidency of the United States puts him among the elite of American Presidents. Just 15 of our 47 Presidents have managed a second term. Two, including Trump, have had interrupted terms, meaning that only one third of Presidents have made it to a second term. Of these two-term Presidents, most are typically remembered for the events that happened during their first term.

Vice-Presidential Pool
In selecting from the pool of Vice-Presidential candidates, a Presidential candidate’s choice has some interesting similarities to the actual game of pool itself, especially at the beginning of the game. Right after the “break” a player chooses the next shot. In a typical round, there are a lot of questionable next shots, perhaps one or two good ones, and, almost certainly, some that are more problematic.

Afghan Albatross
I’ve stopped watching the news or even listening to the radio. It’s just that bad. I can’t, I don’t want to, but still images and sound bites find their way to me like a bad dream. But it’s not a dream, it’s an ugly reality. Women beaten in public, people shot on the streets, desperate mobs of people, panicked and confused begging for help, children separated from their parents, people clinging to the exterior of airplanes for dear life. And now…..13 US Servicemen killed.

Rush The Man
Rush, if there is one pattern that I see in man’s continuing struggle for freedom, it is that throughout history God has raised up one man from the ranks of obscurity at just the proper time. This man has always had a uniquely blended set of skills, mostly forged in adversity, that were exactly those needed to stand against the raging current of the times. Ultimately, the emergence of this man not only reverses the fortunes of a forlorn and desperate people, but it also forever changes the way things are done.

Stop the Steal Rally Garners Disappointing Responses
South Carolinians turned out on Saturday at the SC state capital in Columbia as part of a Stop the Steal Rally. Their aim was to demonstrate support for President Trump and demand integrity in our electoral system. The grass-roots event was partially organized by an organization called Engage the Right, that seeks to facilitate conservative involvement at all levels of the political process.
“Irredeemable”
Hillary Clinton is the gift that keeps on giving and just like a disliked white elephant gift, she refuses to go away. She was back in the news the other day, making more outlandish comments. In an October 5th, CNN interview, Clinton claimed Trump supporters are part of a MAGA cult and should be deprogrammed, stating “that at some point…

Redefining The Swamp
President Trump has often talked about draining the swamp in reference to extricating Washington of its slimy life forms: career politicians, bureaucrats and entrenched special interests. The symbolism here is obvious, let the water out of the swamp and all of its slithering denizens will disappear.

More Catherine and Less Gaga: Why Royal Weddings are Important to Western Culture
Perhaps elegance, grace, style, humility would be better choices. How about all of the above? I kept watching. Would Cinderella keep her composure or would she crack, would she slip, stumble or slur as many of us would likely do with the eyes of the world literally focused on our every breath. I found myself feeling happy for her. The “magic” of the moment. I was hooked. Is that even possible?
