Home Again: Trump 2.0 at 30 Days
As talk show host Michael Berry said in a recent broadcast “These are the good old days!” We are living through the best of times; every day is better than the next. Those of us still alive in 20 or 30 years will remember these moments, this conservative honeymoon of hope and change, as the time when it all began. With the attar of affection and slightly puffed chests, we are going to speak of these last 30 days as the beginning of the good old days, reveling in the fact that we experienced them as they unfolded.
What good times they are. In just one month, our collective cultural psyche has experienced one gigantic, nationally-cathartic homecoming. Donald Trump is in the House. American hostages are coming home. Illegal aliens are being sent home. Deep-staters are losing their homes and Democrat chickens are “a coming home.”
Trump is at home
Donald Trump is in the House, our House. The executive orders, the proclamations, and the appointments come at us with mindboggling speed. MAGA fans have become bobble-head dolls with sore necks watching him lead. We can’t wait to get up in the morning to see what he’s come up with next. Trump has launched America on a rocket ship trajectory of common-sense change and reform like only Donald Trump could do, non plus ultra.
Just to mention two. Like the developer that he is, Trump has changed the Pan-American skyline from Greenland to Panama. He has framed a new debate about what is in the U.S.’s vital interests. North America is our home, the Americas are our backyard. As first defined in the Monroe Doctrine in 1823, American interests lie first and foremost in the western hemisphere and in its protection.
We forget this at our own peril when we give away the Panama Canal, allow Russian nuclear submarines to cruise the straits of Florida, Chinese spy balloons to wander with impunity over American soil and our military bases, or when we let our neighbors take advantage of us. When America is strong, Canada and Mexico get to come along for the ride, for free. Instead of protecting our interests, they have abused our magnanimity via massive trade imbalances and porous borders. Ironically, should America ever falter, their economies and national securities would quickly unravel.
Domestically, Trump’s political genius has been to unleash the tech genius of Elon Musk. DOGE is exposing government waste, fraud, and inefficiency. Even better than the savings themselves, Musk and his team are establishing bone-chilling precedents for the deep-state: government spending can be audited and individuals can be held accountable. For the trillions of dollars that cannot be tracked so far, Musk has shown that bureaucrats failed to follow even rudimentary administrative tracking procedures. In the private sector this would be cause for termination or worse.
American hostages are coming home
Before taking office president Trump threw down the gauntlet to Hamas regarding all remaining hostages taken on Oct 7th 2023. While not as fast as we had hoped, American hostages have been coming home ever since.
But our January 6th 2021 American political-prisoner hostages are already home. Americans who were afforded fewer constitutional protections than illegal aliens storming our borders are now free at last. All 1500 or so fellow Americans are sleeping once again, not in solitary confinement but, in their own beds. What a great way to end a Stalinist expedition into government weaponization.
Illegal Aliens are being sent home
Citizen Trump must have had plenty of time in between lawsuits, ballot removal contests, and assassination attempts to identify the best people for his new administration. Tom Homan is proof that the Donald has used the four years of his interregnum wisely. There is likely no one better suited to be border czar than Mr. Homan, certainly no one with more experience, passion, drive, determination, zeal and clarity of purpose that Homan possesses. He does come across as a braggadocios bully. Perfect. Testosterone matters. What drug cartel leader, foreign dictator or big city mayor would take Pete Buttigieg or Tim Walz seriously?
Homan has brought down border crossing by over 90 percent in less than a month. Gitmo is now open for business house the worst reprobates from south America. While still a small number, illegals are being deported and more are self-deporting. Adios y vaya con dios (and however else you say it in Chinese and Senegalese).
Deep-staters are losing their homes
The seven counties surrounding Washington DC have been some of the fastest growing counties in the country for decades. Even during the worst of the housing crisis 15 years ago, DC area housing prices were increasing. Unaccountable and self-perpetuating Big Government never dies, contracts, or pauses. It is what entrenched bureaucracies do, get bigger, like the Blob on steroids when 92% of them vote Democrat.
Until now. Orange Energizer Bunny is a blob buster. He has unleashed the Blob-bane. Elon Musk has the deep-state on a fiscal diet and he is counting cash calories. The very thought is anathema to the deep-state bureaucratic mentality.
Government ranks are in decline. 75,000 federal employees have taken the buy-out offer for early retirement. Thousands more have been fired or “reduced” for cause. Entire federal departments may soon be eliminated or moved en masse to a different part of the country.
Still others are outright panicked about the future and may soon be self-deporting themselves from DC. The number one Google search term in DC is “criminal defense attorney?” Yes, there is trouble in political paradise. The bubble is bursting and the DC housing market is in panic mode. Four thousand new homes have been listed in the last 30 days. The median home price has fallen $139,000. Since “The Blob” itself first appeared on movie screens in 1958, the Democrats have been taking the swamp and turning it into a golden calf. No longer. Trump has a different vision for the DC landscape. First, however, he needs to level so much of it.
Democrat chickens are coming home to roost
Rush Limbaugh always encouraged us to, “follow the money.” Musk has followed the money of USAID and other agencies all over the world. He is uncovering the billions of dollars for homosexual, transsexual and DEI causes, money to promote and support illegal immigration from Latin-America, and egregious monthly payments to the Taliban.
Even more sickening than the wasted dollars is the fact that the Washington blob facilitated the waste and then hid it from us for decades. This needs to change. Individuals, not just agencies, are just now beginning to be held accountable for gross negligence and deliberate dereliction of their fiduciary responsibility to the American taxpayer.
In their interview with Sean Hannity this week, Musk and Trump said that it takes competence as well as caring to fix our government. First, one must care about the abuses that are taking place. Second one must be competent to do something about them. Orange Energizer Bunny and Blob-bane have proven to be both caring and competent enough for the task. They are ushering in a new era of “the good old days,” and leaving us to wonder whether those who came before them were either uncaring or incompetent.
